BONJOUR MON FRÈRE.
I happily hibernated last night. Another early morning, awakened by the rising sun. I managed to get roughly six hours of sleep. This may be the best sleep of the trip. That is, speaking in terms of duration, not comfortability. I never thought that I would miss the comfort of my inflatable mattress pad. My first-ever experience in the golden state was unforgettable. We left California behind and plunged into the beautiful forestry of Oregon.
At that moment, I had conquered the West Coast. The great greenery occupied my eyeballs for miles. Before I put my big brain to use, I had to get some energy. This consisted of the remnants of last night's chicken burrito bowl and a pippin hot black coffee. During this period, I worked on the usual tasks. My week's worth of assignments for the online TEFL class was completed, I wrote the rough draft of my adequate autobiography et j'ai bien étudié le français. Promptly after completing my major daily tasks, I was nabbed by a nap.
The loud conductor announcements dragged me from my delirious dreamland. On the bright side, we had arrived in Portland. It has been three days since my last proper shower and one week without laundry. I do believe that I am getting pretty good at this whole homeless thing. Normally, a day without washing will drive me wild. Finally, after a solid twenty hours dans le train, we arrived in Seattle. Have you ever spent fifty-eight hours over a span of three days on a train? Honestly, it was not the worst experience. I saw some spectacular scenery. Much of my work was willingly completed. Even managed to meet some pretty nice individuals. Again, if you spend a certain amount of time confined to one place, you will inevitably grow tired of it.
My next destination was Collin's crib, only two miles away. Like a madman, I zoomed through the streets of downtown Seattle to capital hill. Several indulgences motivated my hastened arrival, a hot shower, ice-cold beverages, and wondrous weed. Nighttime nourishment included a tub of hummus, assorted vegetables, a bag of beef sticks, and a grand assortment of exciting elixirs. Never take your bed for granted, right now, I am in heaven.
