PLUS DE FAMILLE.

This morning I caught up on sleep. It felt too good to sleep in. Glenn, Tracy, and I drove to a local creperie for brunch. Perhaps I was biased, but the crepes were fine. They were not as fluffy or flavorful as I am used to. The espresso was acceptable, but the search continued. We returned to the house, and I headed out to my office to work on several things. After working for a few hours, I jumped on my bike and sprinted downtown Denver.

I was zooming without all the extra baggage weighing me down. It was a gorgeous ride as I followed along the Platte River. Eventually, I found myself zipping through the streets of downtown. Shortly after, I was waiting outside of Aaron's apartment in Capitol Hill. It had been a while since I had seen my former roommate and best buddy. This was my first time seeing him in his Denver establishment.

Adog and I maneuvered through a homeless encampment to a local pub and split a pitcher of Budweiser. We chatted, reminisced, and caught up while sipping our brews. We made our way to his favorite authentic Asian eatery and got some food to go. Lord have mercy, this grub was beyond great. We had some dumplings and a sweet and spicy boneless rib meal. It was an hour's bike ride back to Littleton, and we had a big family dinner planned, so I had to hit the road. We made plans to hang out again before my departure, but it was a sufficient what up for now.

I skipped downtown and took a more direct route back to the Sutas. It was later in the day, and the heat was much more manageable. When I arrived back, the whole Suta crew was there, including Taylor's fiance Bryn. We were still waiting on two more guests, so I ran upstairs for a speedy shower. After making myself a little more presentable, John and his girlfriend joined the party. I had not seen John in years, and he had just recently moved to Denver. He had always been the funniest cousin, and things clearly had not changed. The cousins conjugated outside and conversed while Glen and Tracy put the finishing touches on dinner.

After chatting for a bit, dinner was served. We enjoyed some sensational smoked lamb chops, roasted potatoes, roasted vegetables, pasta with pesto, and asparagus. We started with this wine from the south of France, and I was in heaven. The night continued on, and we continued to chat and drink. Eventually, the evening came to an end; people did have to work in the morning. It was nice to chill with the cousins, we have all grown so much, but the blood bonds never change. Usually, I do not track the biking I do in the big cities, but this is a different story, click here for the route.
