PLUS DE REPOSE, PLUS DE PREPARATION.

I conked out on that comfy couch, and my sleep was stunning. It truly baffles me how specific things create a source of comfortability. Perhaps it is a special smell, a specific song, or a secluded spot. In my case, it is this dinosaur of a davenport. Pardon the double entendre. It is just so fascinating to me because this piece of furniture has been in my life for practically my entire existence. Every single visit to Davenport, I would crash on that snug sofa. Suddenly, it was gone, and I did not even bat an eye. Here I am on the most arduous adventure of my life, and this couch reappears with open arms. Alright, enough of this carefully curated couch conservation.

After fully waking up, I headed upstairs to find Tina and Matthew working hard. The kids were already at daycare, and these two were actual adults with real jobs and stuff. After filling up a cup of coffee, I retreated to the porch and started some work of my own. My first order of business was typing up some text for the Tom Tracker. Next, I had to figure out the replacement tablet that was sent here by the insurance company. This mostly consisted of trying to sign in and verify my identity. My laptop has all my usernames and passwords, so this was a difficult task. Following that, I had a terrific conversation with a Verizon representative to figure out some billing information, among other things.

The next item on the agenda was bike maintenance. This included tightening all the bolts, spraying down the frame and bags, tightening the brakes, and lubing up the chain. There were still many things on my docket that needed doing, so I trekked into town. My first stop was at the laptop repair shop, but they were all booked up for the next couple of days. Not too far away was the bike shop and they hooked me up with some new brake pads. According to these gearheads, I would not have made it to Denver without this mandatory maintenance. Just behind the bike shop was a little cafe, and I had to try the espresso. It was not great in any aspect, but the breakfast burrito was bomb.

After some much-needed energy, I biked to Eagle's post office. My broken tablet needed to be shipped in for repairs, and I grabbed the mail. Apparently, there are no mailboxes at the houses, and residents have to collect their mail at the post office. I had not heard of this procedure before, and it was interesting to discover. When my trip to this tiny town was terminated, I returned back to my home base. After relaxing for a little, it was time to occupy the kitchen.

With no recipe in mind, I scoured the fridge for ingredients. Quickly, I whipped up some hummus and prepped some vegetables for the oven. When the roast was nearing completion, I melted some cheese onto several naan slices. It was a color explosion as I positioned multi-colored bell peppers, carrots, and baby tomatoes onto the cheesy naan. After topping it with some hummus, I whipped up a pepper aioli and spattered that for the finishing touches. It was another successful evening in the kitchen. At the conclusion of dinner, I had to tend to another one of my skills. Tina let me use her laptop to edit all the photos from this past week. It took some time to download photoshop, and I spent the rest of the night editing. There were roughly nine hundred raw photos to sort through. While editing, the couch conquered me again, and dreamland was dominant.
