SAKÉ ET GRAFFITI.
Sleeping in a sauna was doable, and getting up early was easy. John and I drove to the grocery store to gather the necessary ingredients for breakfast. This morning's market run was interesting to me, but I still cannot pinpoint why. After some shopping, we found an espresso bar in a charming neighborhood close by. The espresso was sadly subpar for being a proclaimed espresso establishment. The crema was nonexistent, and that was just the start of the problems. Yes, yes, the search continues.
We returned to the Cherry Street apartment, and he commenced the cooking. John has been talking a big game about his eggs. I will not reveal all of his secrets, but he used low heat and constant agitation. They were spectacular, and we also consumed some sausage patties, stewed vegetables, challah bread, and sliced fruits. After our magnificent morning meal, we made our way downtown Denver. Our destination was the River North Art District, which is notorious for its fantastic graffiti.
While wandering around, I saw just how serious the homelessness situation was in Denver. It was much worse than I originally thought, and they did not take kindly to us and our cameras. One woman threatened to smack me upside my head. She was unquestionably tweaking on something. Regardless of this obstacle, we located the amazing works of art in the form of graffiti. A few hours later, we were satisfied with our shots and made our way back to home base.
Aaron got off work early today and joined us at John's apartment. We walked to a Korean BBQ restaurant just down the street. For drinks, we drank hot sake and apple soju. The best deal for food was to do the unlimited BBQ, which gave us endless meats and sides. It was amazing, and we could cook everything to our liking with the grill at our table. Knowing this was my last day in the big city, I stuffed myself. It was another gluttonous moment, and everything was exceptional. We waddled back to the apartment, and Aaron took off. The rest of the evening was spent editing photos and working on other personal assignments. It was not nearly as hot, and crashing on that couch was much more manageable.
