UNE PROMENADE DANS LA FORÊT.
Another morning of relaxing repose. The sunless sanctuary allowed my body to determine the amount of rejuvenation required. Once awakened, I jumped on my laptop and started to work on the essential assignments. The homemade drip coffee delivered a decent amount of energy. Collin's friend arrived, we ran out the door and hopped into her car. The Tarzan soundtrack was playing, and I knew today was going to be a decent day. We drove roughly forty-five minutes to Olallie State Park.
The truth, all morning, I felt a little hazy. The second we stepped foot onto the Twin Falls Trail, everything shifted. The wondrous woods cured my silly stupor. The fabulous foliage forged a new mentality. It did not take long for us to reach the stunning stream just below a waterfall. I splashed the crystal-clear water onto myself and bathed my upper body. I was reborn. We also decided to fuel ourselves with a little lunch. I had a few slices of tomatoes, Fritos, a stuffed ham and cheese sandwich, and an IPA.
Feeling reinvigorated, we continued to trek along this tremendous trail. As of late, I have seen much forestry, but I was confined to my train seat. This hike was the first time that I had fully immersed myself in these tremendous timbers. The trail itself was challenging but extraordinarily rewarding. You had to focus ferociously on every step you took. The path was unpredictable. Often we encountered unstable footing, rising roots, slippery slopes, and risky raised rocks. This whole trip, I have been wearing my red low-top vans. Therefore, every step had to be carefully calculated on this troublesome terrain.
Two and a half hours later, we completed our trek. We returned to Collin's friend's apartment for a day cap. She is a professional bartender and crafted some delectable drinks. My drink of choice was the classic manhattan. Ultimately, we made our way back to home base. After showers, we reheated last night's ramen and retired to the couch. One thing I learned from today is that nature is necessary for a prosperous psyche. Tomorrow I have many tasks to complete.
